Membership Form and Dues

We are pleased that you are interested in joining a plein aire painting group.  The Plein Air Painters of the Ozarks (PAPO), founded  by Gwen Long in 2003, formally chartered in 2004 with  17 members and current has over 50 members.

The group meets weekly to paint en plein aire on Wednesday mornings, April through November, at various locations in Northwest Arkansas and surrounding areas.  En plein aire, a French expression which means “in the open air,” is used particularly to describe the act of painting outdoors. Following each paintout the group enjoys lunch together at a nearby restaurant or brown bags on site.

Existing without a board, officers, or regular business meetings, members take turns at hosting (planning) paintouts.  Membership is open.

A bi-monthly newsletter, Palette Prattle, informs members of the paintout schedule.  Whenever possible, weekly e-mails, PAPO UPDATES, remind members of paintout sites and other current news.

To simplify predicting weather conditions, paintouts are not canceled but attendance is left to individual discretion.

If you would like to be a member of PAPO, please fill out the form below and send a $15 check payable to treasurer: Helen Hellweg, 14547 Zimmerman Lane, Rogers, AR 72756. You may also email Phil Wright at for further information.
